Laser Hair Removal Treatment

Do your Research

Know what you’re getting yourself into. Laser Hair Removal Treatment is great but as a consumer you should always make sure that you are well- informed about the good and the bad of any service you purchase.

Ask Questions

Ask your technician questions such as how many appointments you will need, what results you can expect, and if this treatment truly is your best option. You want to go into treatment with accurate expectations.

Know your History

Do you have tendency to scar? Have you recently been tanning? Are you on or have you taken any prescription drugs recently? Your technician needs to know these things so go to your appointment ready with the answers.

Forgo the Sun kissed Glow (only for a little while!)

As mentioned above your technician must know if you’ve had prolonged sun exposure within 6 weeks of your treatment. A tan increases the risks of side effects such as skin lightening. Sun exposure AND sunless tanning products are both discouraged.

Avoid Plucking Waxing and Electrolysis

These hair removal methods disturb the hair follicle which leads to interferences with the treatment. Shaving however, is actually recommended. It is suggested that you shave either the day before or day of your treatment. This will allow the procedure to be completed quicker and with less discomfort.

Exfoliate

This should be done in order to remove any ingrown hairs before treatment.

Keep your Skin Natural

Keep your area of treatment free from any moisturizer, perfume, deodorant or makeup. Just come as you are!

Watch your Consumption

Try and avoid caffeine and spicy foods before your treatment. I know this is disappointing to my fellow coffee lovers but the results will be worth the restraint.

Take a Photo

Know your results. Take a photo of the area before and after each session this way you can keep track of the progress.

Deal with the Pain

If you have a low threshold for pain or are just slightly anxious about the treatment apply an anesthetic cream to the area or take a Tylenol 20-30 minutes before your appointment.
